Estimating Quantity Surveyor

Our client are currently looking for an Estimating Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for a range of duties to ensure we prepare and submit commercially viable bids for medium to large perimeter protection projects (fencing, gates and entrance controls)

The three main areas of activity that the successful applicant will lead and/or contribute towards, namely across three main stages of our business activities;

  • Pre sales estimating and bid preparation for bids above £50k.
  • Post order support for project management and operational teams.
  • Process and Strategy formulation to improve estimating efficiencies, manage risk and increase sales conversion rates.

Key responsibilities:-

  • Degree qualified in quantity surveying, or civil/structural engineering.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of commonly used construction contracts and contract law.
  • Minimum 3 years Quantity Surveying and Estimating experience including cost management of construction projects, estimating projects circa £5 million.
  • Experience of mitigation and adjudication processes - desirable.
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) - desirable.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of construction and issues such as building regulations and planning and all aspects of construction technology.
  • Commercial awareness good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
