Job Title: Quality Manager

Do you have a degree level or equivalent in Science/Engineering? Do you have the minimum of 5 years' experience in a responsible position covering Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems, ideally in a supervisory role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced team of people.

Main Purpose:

  • To ensure the company complies with the required quality standards as demanded by the industry at large and by our customers in particular.
  • To support other functional areas in all matters relating to quality.
  • To drive and instil a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company through the refinement of our business processes in order that we continue to exceed the expectations of our customers and other stakeholders.
  • To manage and develop the Quality Department in a way that maximises its effectiveness in fulfilling the above.

Main Responsibilities - Duties:

  • Senior Quality Management representative for the company.
  • Provide Quality Engineering resource and expertise to facilitate the successful completion of customer deliverables in line with customer and company requirements.

As a minimum, maintaining and improving the quality management system by:

  • Conducting internal audits.
  • Managing the Corrective Action System to close any gaps and weaknesses identified in our quality management system.
  • Ongoing review and appropriate escalation of QMS status with the General Manager and his staff.
  • Facilitating External Audits.

  • Meeting the contracted needs of our customers by pro-active involvement during the entire product life cycle.

Proactively supporting and advising other departments on:

  • Problem solving.
  • Opportunities for process improvement.
  • Effective quality management system document creation and revision.
  • Quality training.

Continuously improving the quality management system by:

  • Establishing, monitoring and reporting relevant metrics.
  • Applying Six Sigma and Lean tools.
  • Leading / participating in specific project teams.
  • Facilitating improvement programs across all departments to increase effectiveness and reduce waste.

  • Working with the Purchasing Department to select, evaluate and develop suppliers.
  • Providing the interface with the company's customers and the various accreditation bodies on matters relating to quality, approvals, audit and appraisal.
  • Supporting and working with corporate / business unit initiatives to ensure best practice is flowed down and implemented where appropriate.
  • Appraising/Managing and planning Quality Department resources / budget and staff training /development.
  • Assistance in other departments in order to meet Company objectives.
  • Ensure awareness of, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Education/Experience:

  • Degree level or equivalent in Science/Engineering. Member of the Institute of Quality Assurance preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a responsible position covering Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems, ideally in a supervisory role in a similar environment.
