Job Title: Buying Manager - Clothing, Parts and Accessories

Do you have extensive buying and merchandising experience with a strong clothing background? Are you a self-starter? The Purpose of your role:

To grow market share, net promoter score and net profitability of the clothing, parts and accessories buying areas. Using your skills to develop an internal stakeholder network so the category can be professionally managed with a focus on end to end cost management and customer satisfaction.

To contribute to the development of the commercial function, nurture internal talent and develop a continuous improvement program to support a world class buying and merchandising team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer focussed ranging - key understanding of channels to market and optimising net profitability. KPI = growing net margin contribution.
  • Sourcing and buying expertise - proven competency in understanding true profitability through the value chain with strong negotiation skills. KPI = growing supplier sources of income and optimising terms.
  • Cross functional working - ability to network through the business and be a commercial 'ambassador'.
  • Team leadership and development - lead by example, demonstrating functional buying competencies, professionalism, creative thinking and commercial acumen. Coach and develop the team, setting clear objectives/ targets and development plans.
  • Analytical and data driven with a clear understanding of otb/wssi management.
  • Ability to plan strategically - utilising market dynamics, customer insight and intuitive understanding to create a vision and road map.

  • Strong communicator with a proven ability to plan at a strategic level and trade in a tactical way.

  • Multi-channel experience and clear understanding of the opportunities this represents.
