The Role

The position offers the successful candidate the chance to join an exciting, fast growing business and benefit from the opportunities that this brings. Your primary responsibility will undertaking operational quality monitoring and first line defense activities within the underwriting department.

Providing an independent support and monitoring service to improve standards and promote an accuracy 'right first time' culture. The applicant should be organised, thorough, enjoy challenging situations and have the persistence to see a job through to conclusion. Getting things right and attention to detail are important factors in this position. You will work as part of a team to ensure that departmental targets are met along with maintaining high service standards to all stakeholders.

Ideally the candidate will have current experience of the mortgage process in a UK regulated environment as well as excellent administration, computer literacy, telephone communication skills and an ability to work well under pressure.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Quality audit reviews of key processes within mortgage underwriting.
  • Continuously review corrective actions and quality issues within the business.
  • Communicate first line quality audits within agreed timeframes.
  • Report findings and escalate areas of concern.
  • Continual development and documenting proposals for key process monitoring procedures.
  • Ensure that company policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Report any breaches to the senior operational management team.

Experience Required:

  • Quality assurance experience within a regulated mortgage environment preferred.
  • Ability to complete audits and report to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Regulatory knowledge to ensure that all processes operate within the UK regulatory guidelines.
  • Diligent with a keen eye for detail.
