Job description:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager in the Central Region.

Purpose of the Role:

This role looks to deliver the New Equipment sales target for the Central Region, which mainly incorporates the West Midlands across to the East Midlands. With this, the new Business Development Manager will establish strong relationships with key Architects to drive the major focus of growth through specification. As well as working closely with Architects, they will need to maintain, grow and add to existing relationships with End Users, Main Contractors & Aluminium Façade Contractors.

As a Business Development Manager they will ensure the company develops the opportunity to provide quotations and receive orders. They will do this by confidently providing technical support to specifiers, contractors and end users, as well as offering excellent customer service. They will handle commercial enquiries to support the Internal Sales Department through the proposal process, liaising with both the office and the customer to ensure expectations and met to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Manage existing customer relationships ensuring that the company are specified for their customer's.
  • Arrange regular face-to-face meetings to help develop the awareness of our solutions.
  • Provide Technical CPD seminars in a confident and assuring manner, to develop customer awareness and create 'pull' through.
  • Ensure that the company are included on end user tender enquiry lists for both Equipment Sales and Service.
  • Provide technical direction to the client's Architects, ensuring that the right solution is specified.
  • Conduct site surveys to support our proposals and specifications.
  • Develop and present proposals rather than just quotes, adding value to the service we offer.
  • Manage Monthly Order Forecasts in line with Sales Targets.
  • Maintain the CRM tool constantly and effectively, keeping on top of the quotation pipeline at all times.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have sound knowledge and understanding of the Architectural & Contracting networks and organisations across the region. Preferably they will have experience and technical knowledge of Automatic Entrance Solutions, however experience with a similar technical product will be considered.
  • They will also have a high level of commercial expertise with strong sales and presentation skills, as well as be PC literate and proficient in the use of MS Office. As a Business Development Manager they will be capable of confidently offering specific solutions to the customer as well as being confident in carrying out surveys for technical proposals. Experience with the using CRM systems to help drive the regions performance and good communication skills over the telephone and customer facing is essential.
  • We are looking for an experienced customer focused Sales & Specification Professional and therefore the ideal candidate will have a meaningful and successful history of Specification & Sales of a technical product.
  • Ideally potential candidates will have a good working knowledge of the key players in the territory, but more importantly we are looking for a strong hard working team player who wants to be successful within the company.
  • Please note the sales region covers a fairly large geographical area, therefore this could involve extended travel and overnight stays.
  • Potential candidates should ideally be based central to the region and in close proximity to the Midlands Motorway Network taking in the M6/M5/M42/M1 regions accordingly. An ideal location would be to the East of Birmingham.
