Job Title: Training and Development Consultant

Do you possess a minimum PTTLS (or equivalent qualification) and a willingness to undertake a Certificate in Education, PGCE, DTLLS? Do you have a NVQ Level 3 in relevant subject area (to assess NVQ 2/3) or NVQ 4 (to assess Level 4 and above)? Primary Function of the Role

  • To provide high quality IAG, training, coaching and assessment to Apprentices and other work based learners.
  • To promote and sell the companies programmes to employers and employees.
  • To provide high quality customer service, ensuring that the needs of the learner and employer are fully met.
  • To effectively participate in and comply with all aspects of internal and external Quality.
  • Assurance processes as well as Funding Body requirements.

Main Activities and Responsibilities of the Post:

  • To be responsible for recruiting and enrolling learners, maintaining the caseload agreed with your line manager.
  • To be responsible for providing a high quality induction for new learners.
  • To responsible for the provision of high quality training, coaching and assessing, to meet the needs of learners to support them to successfully achieve their qualifications, developing teaching strategies in a way likely to foster and maintain learners' enthusiasm and motivation.
  • To be responsible for creating & regularly reviewing ILP's assessment plans, conducting reviews and setting SMART targets for learners.
  • To be responsible for tracking learners and completing relevant documentation in an accurate, organised and timely manner ensuring Awarding Body standards are met and compliance with contractual funding requirements.
  • To be accountable for own performance against key performance indicators which include the achievement of overall and timely success rates that are at least to national rates, and for maintaining a minimum grade 2 in your teaching practice.
  • To liaise professionally with employers and or supervisors providing opportunities for them to contribute to the planning of training and assessment and ensuring that they are kept fully informed of the progress of their staff.

General Duties

  • Play an active part in the company's staff team attending staff and other appropriate meetings.
  • Receive and participate in supervision and training as deemed necessary and in line with the companies policies.
  • Operate within and promote the companies policies in all areas including Equality & Diversity
  • Ensure awareness of and compliance to all Health & Safety and Safeguarding requirements, taking reasonable care of the health & safety and safeguarding of yourself and other persons in accordance with Health & Safety and safeguarding legislation.

Person Specification:

  • Possess a minimum PTTLS (or equivalent qualification) and a willingness to undertake a Certificate in Education, PGCE, DTLLS.
  • Assessor Award.
  • NVQ Level 3 in relevant subject area (to assess NVQ 2/3) or NVQ 4 (to assess Level 4 and above)
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of teaching methods and strategies that ensure high levels of student engagement and effective learning.

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years post-Cert Ed or equivalent, successful experience of assessing/verifying Apprenticeship and Workplace Learning Programmes to a wide range of learners at different levels.
  • Experience of delivering high quality training and assessment and maintaining a current observation grade of at least 'good', achieved in the last two years.
  • Experience of generating new and repeat business to sustain caseload and generate income.
  • Experience of providing assessment and training in at least 2 occupational areas and at a range of levels.
  • Successful experience of making significant improvements in learners' retention and success rates.
  • Relevant recent professional/ vocational experience.
  • Evidence of having a learner centred approach within the workplace.
  • Evidence of ability to provide completed documentation to a high standard and in a timely manner.

Aptitude and Skills:

  • Enthusiasm and capability to develop and effectively promote successful and innovative practice in learning and teaching, through coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to bring 'value added' to the organisation i.e. generation of business, new networks, or breadth and depth of skills areas, curriculum development.
  • Ability to make and communicate sound and robust judgments about teaching and learning and assessing, using available evidence and suggest effective improvements.
  • Commitment and ability to promoting and celebrating Equality and Diversity in the learning environment.
  • Experience of successful use of ILT, including Moodle.
  • Ability to reflect on own practice and plan CPD to regularly improve own performance.
