Job Title: Quality Inspector

Are you an apprentice trained mechanical engineer? Do you have experience of working within an accredited quality control department? Our client is looking for someone with knowledge of Metrology hand tools to work in their busy manufacturing site.

Overview:

Reporting direct to the Works Manager, the Inspector's principal job purpose will be to oversee all aspects of quality control of the product line. The role requires a quality focused approach to work with excellent attention to detail and the delivery of responsibilities in accordance with established SOPs and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow Management Instructions for the efficient delivery of responsibilities
  • Oversee control, maintenance and calibration of gauges used within the manufacturing facility in accordance with standards and gauge calibration schedule;
  • Provide cover as required to the UKAS Calibration Laboratory carrying out calibration of manufactured product in accordance with our UKAS accreditation;
  • Ensure safe operation of mechanical handling equipment, as required, and only when trained to do so
  • When operating mechanical handling equipment always comply with Company procedure / H&S guidelines;

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Apprentice trained mechanical engineer
  • Experience of working within an accredited quality control department
  • Good working knowledge of metrology hand tools and functions of typical use
  • Experience of working in a busy environment with varied work demands
