Job Purpose

A leading brand in the travel industry, we are looking for an Ecommerce Analyst to support the ecommerce strategy of our well-established online B2C and B2B capability, and to help us deliver significantly improved customer journeys across all our channels.

As a new role within the organisation, you will take responsibility for the measurement of our online performance and provide data driven insight to support the optimisation strategy of the digital channels.

Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks:

  • Implement and develop a new Ecommerce Analysis capability within the company.
  • Working with the Head of Ecommerce to deliver performance improvements across all sites against agreed business targets.
  • Be seen as the Google Analytics Expert within the organisation, providing support and guidance for those with queries and making sure we are fully harnessing the benefits of GA.
  • Build and develop automated reporting on traffic and conversion KPIs supported by both insights to the meaning of data and highlighting of opportunities.
  • Work with the technical team to greatly improve the capture of performance metrics.
  • Adopt a customer-centric way of thinking and lend this to insight theory and data gathering.
  • Ensure strong communication across the business when it comes to reporting and data handling. Tailor reports to the appropriate audiences. Turn static data into dynamic insights.
  • Work in partnership with marketing to support multi-channel promotional activity and build understanding of effectiveness.
  • Work with product and commercial teams in order to deliver insight to product performance and highlight opportunities to improve.
  • Make sure that reporting is consistent and employees are clearly defining the dataset used.
  • Create Google Analytics dashboards for other areas of the business to aid their reporting.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to data insight and reporting.
  • Recommend and develop further insight tools to grow a comprehensive understanding of the performance and effectiveness of all aspects of the online experience.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse when it comes to data gathering procedures and techniques.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Comprehensive understanding of using analytics to support digital channels.
  • Experience of Google Analytics, both in terms of data analysis and technical implementation.
  • 2-3 years track record in a similar role.
  • Someone who enjoys working with data, and thrives on the challenge of converting data into actionable insight.
  • Target driven person who shows strong attention to detail and is commercially aware.
  • A strong communicator - someone who can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and who can tailor communication style as required.
  • Experience of technical platforms and ways of working including agile.
  • Experience in a trading environment (within our outside of travel) advantageous.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively.
