Summary:

This is a newly created opportunity with a global multi-billion dollar company within the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities:

This is a newly-created in-house legal opportunity reporting Corporate Legal team in Japan. You will be required to advise management and the Corporate Legal teams on a wide variety of commercial issues and transactions and other legal matters, varying in nature, complexity and value.

As you will coordinate and manage legal issues involving all of our European operations (including providing support to the Company Secretary), you will need to be aware of legal issues and developments across Europe and report and advise on these matters to the Corporate Legal team and to managers across Europe.

You will also collaborate with external counsel on issues of local law in the countries in which they operate.

You will be expected to lead legal reviews and negotiations of commercial agreements at all stages of bids, proposals, and negotiations and post signature issues.

Requirements:

A qualified solicitor, the ideal candidate will have trained with a leading UK or international law firm and have a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience. Ideally, the candidate will have spent time working successfully in an international company.

It is desirable that candidates have a European wide mind-set and be able to work with colleagues and advisers across Europe. This role offers a wide scope to be involved in a business and provide practical and solidly-based advice across a range of issues and will require a curious, highly analytical and open-minded lawyer.
