Job Overview:

The Projects/Contracts Engineer will manage the day to day organisation of contracts for the supply only and site installation of the Company's range of Steam, Thermal Fluid, Process Air Heating and Thermal Oxidiser equipment to commercial and technical completion within contract requirements.

Job Description:

  • Check contract data to ensure it complies with design data within the framework of the company's ISO 9001 Quality Control Procedures.
  • Review design data in conjunction with the Company's Applications and Technical Services Engineers to ensure compliance with the project specification and the customer's needs.
  • Discuss and agree any changes with the customer to ensure technical and commercial compliance.
  • Ensure accurate data is assembled and recorded to enable the procurement and manufacture of equipment to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Ensure contract financial requirements are adhered to within the time scales specified.
  • Monitor the supply of equipment and works manufactured items to meet the specified timescales.
  • Appoint and monitor site subcontract labour to ensure installation requirements are achieved.
  • Liaise with clients and customers as well as with support services to co-ordinate the smooth progression of projects from order stage to final handover.
  • Provide timely, accurate and reliable quotations to customers in association with the
  • Company's Field Sales Engineers and Sales Management.
  • Advise Field Sales Engineers of potential business arising from written and telephone enquiries.
  • Be able to work effectively without close supervision to achieve set objectives

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A mechanical or chemical engineer or similar discipline with a proven track record in industrial projects within a steam, process or other thermal engineering related environment is seen as ideal.
  • Candidates qualified to Graduate/HNC level with clear potential will also be considered.
  • Ideal experience would be from within the mechanical contracting services with specific reference to steam or high temperature process heating applications.
  • This is a tough, demanding and rewarding job with a high degree of autonomy, which will allow the successful candidate to develop experience within a large industrial group.
