Job Title: Avionic Technician

Do you have extensive experience in repair of electronic circuits? Do you have knowledge of RF circuits and the repair? Do you have good working knowledge of aircraft systems? this is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced team of people and company.

Summary:

To repair and overhaul a wide range of Communications, Navigation, Radar, Audio units to component level. This role4requires working with technologies ranging from analogue electronics to complex microprocessor electronics with the ability to repair RF circuits.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Undertake precise mechanical work and electronics repair including through hole and surface mounted components.
  • Complete fault finding, repair and testing process using specialised and general-purpose test equipment.
  • Undertake work in accordance with the manufacture's component maintenance manual and regulatory approvals and the company's quality system.
  • Complete accurate and legible repair records and ensure they are filed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain an agreed level of quality and cost effectiveness, ensuring accuracy and safety standards are met.
  • Keep abreast of company working practices and procedures.
  • Undertake cross-training in other technical areas in line with the requirements of the business.

Other Responsibilities/Non-essential Functions:

  • Upon agreement work as part of an 'on call' team on a rota basis.
  • Subject to the needs of the business and level of competency carry out independent inspections on other technician repairs.
  • Subject to the needs of the business and level of competency be available on an on call basis for out of hour's urgent customer repairs.
  • Undertake training that is identified as a requirement of the role as identified by the role Manager.
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the role manager/acting manager or Directors.
  • At times of reduced department staff attendance there will be a need to be flexible and provide support outside of the normal tasks of the job to ensure customer satisfaction.

Limits of Fiscal/Management Authority

  • Not permitted to change Business Management/SOP processes, procedures and guidelines without formal approval but expected to make recommendations.

Professional Knowledge & Experience:

  • PC literate - Microsoft word, excel, databases.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Extensive experience in repair of electronic circuits.
  • Extensive knowledge of RF circuits and the repair thereof.
  • Experienced in the use of electronic test equipment.
  • Soldering skills both surface mount and through hole components.
  • Detailed understanding of repair documentation and schematic diagrams.
  • Fully conversant/understand UK and US terminology in technical manuals.
  • Previous experience within an Avionics repairer and overhaul provider.
  • Previously worked in lean/process-change environments.
  • Additional experience in another Aviation MRO sector.
  • Applicable OEM training.
  • Good working knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Aviation or Military background.
  • Full understanding of regulatory requirements appertaining the supply of product for the Aerospace industry.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND level electronics (or similar qualification).

Personal Circumstances:

  • Full current driving licence.
  • Ability to work outside normal hours if requested.
  • Able to work additional hours at busy times.
  • Contactable when not at work for on- call purposes.
  • Due to nature of business security clearance will be required.
