Job Title: Data Engineer
Summary:
The successful candidate will be expected to work on projects involving the development, enhancement, optimization and support of in-house business systems, working closely with senior developers, business analysts and end-users to help design and develop technical solutions to business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a thorough technical understanding of current and future business systems needs
- To identify potential systems solutions to business needs, analysing the solution feasibility in conjunction with senior developers and the Technical Architect.
- To research and suggest new open source tools and techniques that can be utilised in the solutions
- To use cloud solutions where appropriate but to also look at consistency for solutions
- To build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, including key business users and external suppliers
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience designing solutions involving Master Data Management, systems integration interfaces and ETL processes using Informatica to manipulate and transform large volumes of data.
- Experience of working on at least one data processing oriented development project through the full SDLC.
- Informatica Powercenter 10.1 Realtime & B2B
- Linux / Unix shell scripting (RHEL 6+ preferred)
- Master Data Management ETL process design and development
- Database performance tuning
- Knowledge of dimensional and relational data modelling
- Strong RDBMS knowledge
- Knowledge and experience working with a code repository tool such as GIT
