Position Description:

The role includes developing value added marketing materials to support the sales effort, understanding the voice of the customer/market to identify new trends and maintain the new product development and commercialisation roadmap. As the lead role, the Industry Manager will be responsible developing successful and winning strategies that help differentiate the company from the competition. Of critical success is matching product and technology development with customer needs whilst growing the existing customer base providing long term sustainable demand for our products and services.

In collaboration with the Sales team and Channel Partners, the key measure of success will be delivering the annual and long term growth targets of the industry segment. You will work towards achieving mutually agreed business goals and will be measured on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. As such, you will be required to maintain an accurate, timely forecast for the defined vertical market and provide a weekly business report.

As part of the commercial growth team, the Industry Manager will report directly to the Director of Product Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prominent product management.
  • Prominent business development.
  • Support the sales team in closing commercial opportunities.
  • Take the strategic lead in developing the company's business in the metals market.
  • Undertake customer visits on a global basis, provide sales presentations for the company solutions into the metals market and work with the Engineered Solutions team to technically qualify the customer's needs.
  • Work with marketing to develop the material required to support the development of the metals market including; literature, presentations and giving industry presentations.
  • Attend relevant industry conferences and promote the companies technology and solutions via formal presentations, exhibitions and informal networking opportunities.
  • Support the sales management teams to identify and on-board suitable local channel partners to further drive the success of the company's solutions into the metals market.
  • Use solution selling methodologies to sell the value of the company's products to distributors and customers.
  • Collate and provide accurate, on time reporting to senior management to include forecasts by country, region, customer and key project.
  • Provide feedback to marketing, technology and product management on shifting trends in the metals markets and identify new product development opportunities where appropriate.
  • Management of nominated key accounts and/or systems integrators as needed.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

Position Requirements:

  • Technical qualification in the discipline of Engineering or Physics.
  • Senior level experience of selling instrumentation and systems internationally to major players across the metals industry.
  • Customer orientated with an attitude to overcome challenges whilst managing multiple deadlines/projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years' successful commercial experience .
  • Strong team player with the ability to work successfully in a multicultural organization.
  • Fluent in English language (a second language would be beneficial).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation skills with an ability to close deals.
  • Ability to translate technical product information into strong customer value propositions.
  • Experience in developing large deals directly with the end customer.

Location and Travel Expectations

Excellent communication and interaction with our manufacturing facility in the UK will be required however the Industry Manager - Industrial Gases, could be located at a home office in mainland Europe or USA.

Extensive travel globally will be required.
