JOB TITLE: Product Technical Support Specialist

LOCATION: Farnborough

STATUS: Full time (38.25-hrs per week, Monday-Friday) / Permanent

JOB PURPOSE:

This is a key role in supporting the sales team with sales support to the end user and distribution network. If you have a strong technical understanding of vision and hand tool, probes and digital display units and optical scanning systems and an ability to support others you could be the person we are looking for.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a specialist sales support role to UK Customers and the sales group;
  • Provide technical solutions for UK Customers and to support these to point of order alongside UK Area Sales Manager's;
  • Provide a full technical service to key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Create technical quotations to support UK sales operations;
  • Maintain up to date, detailed knowledge and understanding of product portfolio;
  • Ensure continuous awareness of product changes / improvements & developments;
  • Develop & maintain training materials to support customer / distributor product understanding;
  • Deal with customers technical enquiries;
  • Give expertise, advice, guidance and assistance to customers and distributors;
  • Receive, answer and resolve application questions;
  • Foster client relationships on an ongoing basis;
  • Liaise with other departments and external contacts as required;
  • Take an active role in the organisation and planning of Exhibitions / Trade Shows;
  • Attend Exhibitions, Trade Shows;
  • Perform product demos both in UK demo facility, UK customer locations;
  • Ensure effective liaison / relationship management with other departmental staff, partner organisations and external service providers;
  • Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems;
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with GDPR and associated guidelines where appropriate.

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Good level of academic achievement, ideally in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering and Metrology / Inspection
  • Experience in office and field based Customer service
  • Experience in Material Testing & Hardness Testing industry sector experience
  • Knowledge and experience of the sales process in relation to high value capital equipment

Additional:

  • Valid full UK Driving Licence
  • Comfortable with extensive UK wide visits including overnight stays, with some overseas travel
