Job Title: Technical Service Manager

As the Technical Service Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the businesses customers, worldwide distributors and colleagues with product and technical assistance. This is a hands-on position where you can excel in an environment that embraces teamwork, change and flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Deal with both UK and Export customers' technical enquiries using a methodical approach;
  • Progress reported faults through diagnosis to a satisfactory resolution, directly or via colleagues;
  • Assist Field Service Engineers and internal colleagues with technical subjects;
  • Communicate effectively with the internal service administration team, to ensure that service visits are performed in a timely manner, with consideration for our Field Service Engineers, the Customer, commercial implications and Business needs:
  • Monitor and report on service performance to monthly and annual budgets;
  • Maintain up to date, detailed knowledge and understanding of the product portfolio;
  • Attend Supplier training courses to reach the required knowledge levels, for other Group products;
  • Use SAP to access product information and provide relevant details for quotations when required;
  • Use intranet-based apps for service management;

Experience:

  • Good level of academic achievement, to Degree level or via a time served Apprenticeship, in a Mechanical Engineering related discipline
  • Previous experience working within a Service Management role, managing both Internal and Field Services teams
  • Experience working within Mechanical Engineering or Metrology / Inspection
  • Experience working within both office and field-based Customer service & Management environments

  • Ability to work proactively, independently and flexibly
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Excellent planning and personal organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • First -class customer service skills
  • Excellent Computer skills including Microsoft Office specifically, Excel, Word & Outlook (SAP experience is advantageous)
