Job Title: Business Development Manager

Are you a professional salesperson with a track record of complex system sales on projects in excess of millions? This is a field-based role covering the UK. Our client is looking for an energetic, motivated and target driven individual to join their sales team.

Responsibilities:

The success of the Business Development Manager will be measured by the number and quality of proposals produced for potential UK clients; and particularly the successful closure of orders to reach annual agreed targets. This role will operate in close collaboration with the UK sales and bid management team, the UK Business Development Consultant and the UK Managing Director to identify potential clients, develop successful relationships (particularly at C level) and secure new business.

The Business Development Manager must be able to understand the complexities of ticketing systems in an ever changing technological arena, and to develop strong working relationships within the organisation; in client organisations and in other industry influencing organisations. To achieve successful results, he/she will work collaboratively with other senior managers to ensure open interdepartmental communication, foster trust and respect for and between all employees, customers and suppliers and continuously improve operations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated track record of complex system sales and / or business analysis
  • 5+ years' experience in business development with projects in excess of £2m
  • Ability to travel extensively within the UK and Ireland, as well as periodic international travel
  • Must possess a valid full driver's license
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to read, analyse and interpret complex documents and contracts
  • Strong technical expertise in complex sales & bid strategies
  • Consultative sales skills- requires a balance of soft sell approach and hard sell closure
