JOB PURPOSE:

Effectively partner with commercial, operational and production departmental heads and their teams to ensure opportunities for developing new and existing capabilities are maximised and engineering solutions are delivered in a timely manner, to budget meeting quality and service expectations of our customer base.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with operational teams to improve process efficiencies and minimise waste.
  • Focus on continual development, coordinate implementation of process improvements to meet current and future requirements and operational excellence needs.
  • Plan and maintain projects in an efficient, cost effective manner, ensuring delivery to meet / exceed customer service expectations.
  • Negotiate and engage with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Initiate and/or lead improvement projects and CAPEX to enable new process and product introductions.
  • Ensure the most cost-effective manufacturing process flows are defined when introducing new products into operations.
  • Maintain an effective, timely and expedient communication to all stake holder levels.
  • Stimulate initiatives, innovations, and motivation for continuous improvements.
  • Offer technical backup to other Business Units.
  • Adhere to industry standard, EHS and QA rules and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

  • Degree educated in an engineering discipline or significant experience within an electromechanical environment.
  • Lean certification (highly desirable)
  • Project Management (essential)

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an ME within an engineering/ manufacturing industry, evidencing application of industry best practice. Ideally experience will have been gained in an aviation environment but not completely essential if proven success in a related industry can be demonstrated.
  • Proven experience of supporting and working within multi-discipline teams.
  • Possess a strong understanding of quality systems and audit compliance; proven experience of working in a highly regulated and compliant environment.
  • Considerable change management experience; understands the change management cycle and experience of delivering therein.
  • Experienced practitioner of continuous improvement techniques
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are essential.
