Our client spans the globe across Europe, North America and the Far East, we work at the frontier of the semiconductor industry, providing state-of-the-art production equipment to leading manufacturers.

They are seeking a Paralegal working within European Operations to support the legal counsel in delivering a first class service to internal clients and stakeholders. This role will be based in our European Headquarters near Gatwick Airport in the UK.

Job Brief

You will be required to support the legal counsel provide excellent legal support and day-to-day advice across the company's European operations.

Whether you are drafting, reviewing, negotiating contracts, dealing with data protection queries, developing strategy or identifying risk, the role will be fundamental in ensuring a high-quality service to the company.

Key Job responsibilities include (but not limited to)

  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all company documentation and/or information.
  • Attending compliance meetings and taking minutes/notes in relation to each meeting and circulating as needed.
  • Reviewing and negotiating various contracts
  • Advising internal clients about the risks associated with different contracts
  • Assist the legal counsel with GDPR compliance
  • Ensure matter records are made and maintained in line with the company's procedures.
  • Manage files diligently and review each regularly.
  • Compliance with internal policies and procedures, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain regular contact with the internal clients and keep them informed at all times.
  • Deal promptly with all internal client enquiries and correspondence.
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues across the company, as required.
  • Comply with the relevant professional training requirements (CPD)

Job Requirements

  • Achieved a minimum 2.1 in a law degree or 2.1 non-law degree with at least commendation in Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) is ideal but not essential
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a law firm or in-house legal team
  • Experience in company commercial law, including a strong technical ability to review, negotiate and draft of contracts.
  • Excellent Communications Skills
  • Excellent negotiator
  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of data protection is ideal but not essential
  • Ability to speak, read and write French, German or Italian is ideal but not essential
