Senior Process Design Engineer

A global leader in the design of large bespoke Direct Fired Heaters and Waste Heat Recovery Units for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries offering innovative engineered solutions and contract execution to major blue-chip Oil & Gas EPC's and Operators. The Company has established a market leading position in a number of key markets and has a very strong order book and future sales pipeline.

FUNCTION OF THE DEPARTMENT & MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To design Direct Fired Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Units (WHRU), define Auxiliary Components and support the technical proposals for major international tenders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Sales Department to prepare technical proposals that form part of the quotation submission in response to client enquiries.
  • The above includes process design of Heater / WHRU and review of customer specifications to ensure compliance of the Produce corresponding bill of materials, ensuring technical integrity of quotations for main equipment used in cost-estimate.
  • Build relationships with clients to better understand their corporate direction
  • and design preferences in order to better position our proposals and increase chances of bidding success.
  • Familiarisation with the wide product range and pros / cons of various equipment and design Take part in prospecting activities with clients' and at trade shows to sell the benefits of working with us.
  • Liaise with sub-vendors throughout submission of tenders, attend client and end-user sales / technical clarification meetings plus follow-up contact with clients during the contract stage.
  • Post-award: prepare key documents including requisitions for some items; provide formal calculations for Pressure Part Design, Refractory Design.
  • Key Equipment specification and definition of instrument, control and safeguarding functions.
  • Provide Process Engineering support to other departments, suppliers and clients in the commissioning and production process including travel to client and end-user meetings, HAZOPs etc.
  • Leverage the Company's expert status, undertake high value engineering studies to support our clients' investment decisions for furnace and WHRU revamping and upgrading.
  • Undertake peer level review of colleagues' work and calculations in accordance with company guidelines and procedures.
  • Attend and contribute to the process group's continuous improvement /
  • lessons learned training sessions as well as evolving the department's bespoke software tools.
