The Role of Strategic Commercial Sales Manager

  • Deliver sales, revenue and profit targets for the UK business to support the wider company strategy
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts to ensure a positive outcome for Company with a focus on margin growth and risk mitigation
  • Monitor key sales success factors such as the sales pipeline, CRM processes and systems, sales forecasting tools, key account management, market & competitor intelligence, price and margin optimisation and customer satisfaction
  • Agree and deliver proposal strategies with Management and ensure sufficient resources are available to execute the plan by delivering high quality, innovative value add proposals
  • Initiate and maintain the country key account management strategy, resulting in a clear country account structure and plans

What are the key (minimum) requirements for a successful Strategic Commercial Sales Manager application?

  • Engineering, Science or Business Management degree or equivalent
  • Strong experience of managing sales and proposal teams
  • A clear understanding of contract law (e.g. NCE, ICC and LOGIC contracts) particularly within the on-shore and coastal civil engineering and geotechnical industries.
  • Excellent contract negotiation skills with experience of negotiating consultancy services contracts
  • Strong business acumen and extensive experience in contract management
  • Proven ability to identify business opportunities and demonstrate strong financial awareness
  • Fluency in both written and spoken business level English language
  • Proven ability to support internal and external clients by confidently responding to their needs, adding value and building strong relationships
