To develop and grow our nuclear and renewables client bases across the South of England.

Home-based and reporting into the Sales Director for Power & Infrastructure, the roles will be targeted with maximising opportunities with strategically identified clients in their respective areas.

You will be accountable for delivering the yearly budgeted order input target from both existing and new clients, in current and diverse market sectors, in-line with company strategy.

Using your knowledge and experience, you will be responsible for developing customer relationships, identifying and securing new business opportunities for electrical, control, PLC and Real-time Information based systems for a wide range of projects and industries, predominantly Power and Infrastructure, to include power generation, distribution and networks, defence and decommissioning, nuclear and renewables.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the P&I Sales Director.
  • To develop client relationships and win new business directly in line with annual growth targets.
  • To ensure that a steady flow of new and robust opportunities populate the sales pipeline.
  • Maximise opportunities in RTIS, Control & Automation and safety systems that increase revenue and margin.
  • To map and manage the client key operational staff and stakeholders.
  • To prepare an annual order input budget for discussion and agreement with the Commercial Director.
  • To achieve the agreed order input budget
  • To monitor orders against budget and report monthly to the Commercial Director
  • To generate enquiries by direct customer contact
  • Provide full and accurate forecasting to Sales Director for board level reporting
  • Build and own a pipeline of opportunities that result in meeting the sales target but also match the strategy for the business
  • To be responsible for critical input to the production of bids including client presentations and preparation of technical/commercial proposals.
  • To proactively follow up on submitted proposals and to progress through to award.
  • To provide continuous field intelligence on projects, competitor activity, prices, etc
  • To maintain an up-to-date data base of client reporting structures and procurement decision makers in client and prospective client companies
  • To support other sales staff during pre-tender and post-tender phases

Experience, Knowledge, Educational and Work Achievements

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) - desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of identified UK industry sectors: Power Generation: Nuclear and Renewables, Power distribution and networks, Utilities.
  • A strong Control systems integration and automation background.
  • Career experience that has included design and development engineering, product support, and commercial and sales.
  • A thorough knowledge and experience of Real Time Information Systems (or Real Time Business Systems) would be an advantage.
