Buyer based in Lewes

Key Responsibilities of Buyer:

  • Support the purchasing team in the development of product category strategies by undertaking market analysis and research.
  • Collate Request for Quotation (RFQ) responses and complete costing sheets
  • Support buyers in the critical path management of pre-production samples for new tenders managed by the procurement team
  • Manage supplier Invoice Queries and resolve in agreed timescales
  • Understand and deliver to stakeholder requirements
  • Produce and maintain information on suppliers and undertake due diligence on new suppliers
  • Liaise with suppliers on quality problems in conjunction with company quality standards

Key Requirements of Buyer:

  • 2- 3 years of buying experience
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be advantageous
  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering desirable
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers
  • Experience with using Microsoft access database, Excel, and Macros skills for report generation
  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a manufacturing environment would be desirable
  • Experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Materials Resource Planning (MRP) is desirable
  • Knowledge of reading Technical / Mechanical drawings is desirable
