The Data and Analytics Engineer will be reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, driving a data-driven agenda throughout the company to ensure that we continue to treat data as a strategic asset and leverage it for operational excellence. You will provide data and analysis for the organisation to enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Delivery of daily reporting datasets to agreed KPI's
  • Support the business in understanding complex business processes and presents solutions that support business improvement
  • Regression testing
  • Comprehend complex data structures with an ERP system and convert these into structures and schema suitable for reporting, such as Data vault or Kimball
  • Able to present information in an easily consumed presentation format, suitable for end-users and stakeholders
  • Understand the end-to-end architecture required to deliver a data solution and be able to select appropriate tools

Key Requirements of Data and Analytics Engineer:

  • A software development mindset
  • Expertise in SQL (preferably T-SQL or PL/SQL)
  • Data Modelling (e.g. Data Vault, Kimball, 3NF, Imnon)
  • Proficiency in a programming language (preferable Python, JavaScript, or C#)
  • Strong knowledge of Git (or other VCS)
  • Stakeholder Management

Desirable:

  • Snowflake / Firebolt
  • Knowledge of an ETL/ELT tool (e.g. Matillion, dbt, Alteryx, Five Tran, Ab Initio, Azure Data Factory)
  • Apache Beam / Airflow
  • Cloud platforms (specifically Azure/AWS)
  • JIRA Software and Service Desk
