As the Lead Sales Manager you will represent the company to their partners and end user customers to maximise sales revenue through all sales-oriented activities including adding value to products, support of sales activities of the laboratory, process & hi-end viscometers and instruments and marketing activities. Provides strategic leadership in implementing the region's overall sales strategy, policies, and procedures. Assist in the hiring and training and directs, motivates, evaluates, and rewards the region's sales team to meet the sales objectives. The goal is to promote and expand the UK activity that will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.

  • Develop & build sales territories within assigned region.
  • Ensures that sales team are properly trained, and their skills are continually being advanced.
  • Sells and assists Sales Team to develop clear and effective written proposals, quotations, and value propositions for current and prospective customers
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Drive sales forecast accuracy and funnel growth; report the Point of Sale (POS) data from distributors every month and analyses data to find ways to continually improve the go to market strategy.
  • Establishes sales objectives by creating a sales plan and quota for districts in support of national objectives.
  • Maintains and expands customer base by counselling district sales representatives; building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.
  • Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Acquires and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of all assigned product lines by attending in-house technical training courses.
  • Attends sales meetings and trade shows and reads industry publications to gain knowledge of competitors' product strengths and weaknesses within assigned sales territory.
  • Participates in technical/professional organizations or networking groups, attends trade shows and/or conferences to obtain leads.

To be successful in this role of Lead Sales Manager we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • Bachelor / Masters Degree in the discipline of Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant industry experience and in depth knowledge of the market
  • Customer focused attitude, a minimum of 5 years successful sales experience and regional management experience
  • Excellent Sales Skills from Prospecting to Closing
  • Proven experience as country manager or another relevant region sales role
  • Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients using CRM tools
  • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
