Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Our client is looking for a Product Designer within the Research and Development department, responsible for designing modifications to complement our product range. The role includes collaboration with a number of stakeholders including Country Sales, Project Managers, Product Line Managers, Quality, Production, Laboratory and Engineering.
- Design fit for purpose solutions in response to customer specifications and requirements.
- Follow the corporate PMR process and take responsibility for the design orienteered activities.
- Review PMR requests and support the PMR controller to advise technical viability.
- Use skills and knowledge to produce the most appropriate, creative, and cost-effective solutions.
- Deliver to design deadlines & project targets.
- Support the PMR controller with customer enquires and technical questions.
- Work closely with the PMR Production Engineer to champion design for manufacturing.
- DFM risk analysis where required for solutions.
- Provide 2D and 3D CAD drawings to the supplier base.
- Stakeholder collaboration with EMEA and UK based colleagues to progress modifications.
- Support cost downs & upgrades to product.
- Collaboration with the R&D team and advise opportunities to standardize variants.
To be successful in the role of Product Designer, we would like to speak to anyone who has experience in the following:
- BSC Hons Degree (or MSc) in Industrial Product Design, or similar.
- At least 5 years' experience working in a similar discipline ideally within Lighting / manufacturing.
- 3D CAD Proficient and Experience with Solidworks.
- Experience of a structured development process.
- Technical Understanding of Thermal principles, Lighting / photometric, Electronic / electric
