Due to continued growth, our client is looking for an Automation & Process Improvement Engineer. Participating in the setting up of automated manufacturing processes and subsequently maintaining, updating and performing fault diagnosis. We will be looking for somebody with experience setting up automation, maintenance in a context of an automated manufacture. The core skills involved are software literacy, electrical engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering.

  • Setting up new automated production processes such as sensor device assembly and electrode printing.
  • Setting up efficient production processes.
  • Setting up and calibrating testing stations, including gas testing rigs.
  • Provide technical support for all aspects of automation fault finding/diagnosis and improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement through enhancements to existing control software and hardware systems.
  • Perform software updates.
  • Perform maintenance to avoid breakdown and coordinate with external resources where required.
  • Identify and coordinate automation training opportunities within the engineering team
  • Follow and assist quality requirements.
  • Organising and updating budget documentation.
  • Preparing meeting briefs, presentations.

To be successful in the role of Automation & Process Improvement Engineer, we would like to speak to anyone who has experience in the following:

  • Automation Engineering/Process Engineering/Industrial Engineering experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within a manufacturing company.
  • Qualified to a minimum HNC level in mechanical/computer/electrical engineering or similar.
  • Experience in performing software updates and fault diagnostic for automates/robots.
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of automates/robots' maintenance.
  • Experience working with printing techniques such as screen printing as well as ink formulation would be a plus.
