Job Title: Stock Manager

Have you got experience in Stock Control? Have you got knowledge and experience of production scheduling? This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's largest distributors.

Job Overview:

Ensuring efficient stock levels are being maintained by branch containing/reducing the need for transfers through group reducing costs.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in stock control management.
  • Proven ability to influence key decision makers to achieve results.
  • Demonstrates a high level of customer focus.
  • Knowledge and experience of production scheduling.
  • Ability to create a strong working relationship with operational management team and central purchasing and shipping teams.
  • Strong problem solving ability and solution-orientated.
  • Management/Supervisory experience.

Key Results Areas

  • Review all product ranges on a daily basis using recommended replenishment reports.
  • Monitor performance of stock and in particular identify fast/slow moving lines & be proactive when reviewing the new ranges.
  • Analyse aged stock & discuss potential problems with Management & Sales Representatives.
  • Propose stock write downs and write offs to Central Purchasing Team if appropriate.
  • Co-ordinate stock cleansing.
  • Manage branch specials i.e. ensure that all special orders are covered by a signed customer agreement to take the product within 6 months & communicate & discuss stock problems with branch manager & sales representative.
  • Review branches stock profile with Central Purchasing Team & individual Branch Management and communicate profile to their Warehouse Supervisor to ensure adequate space is made available.
