Job Title: Service Technician

Do you have experience working as a Service Technician? Do you have good written and excellent verbal communication skills across all levels? There is also a Trainee position available. This will be a field service role covering the following areas - Hertfordshire/ Cambridgeshire/ Northamptonshire/ Bedfordshire.

Key Purpose of Role:

Responsible for providing post-sales/implementation technical support services to customers including installation, troubleshooting, problem resolution and maintenance. Responds to customer questions regarding operation and malfunctions. Advises customers on preventative maintenance and configuration adjustments to improve product performance and customer satisfaction.

Scope:

  • The responsibility of the Service Technician is to provide an efficient service to all customers and products on their designated territory with the resources provided by the Company.
  • Delivers post-sales/implementation services at customer sites including installation, maintenance and repair of own organisation and third-party products and services to ensure that all function properly.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventative maintenance and configurations that may favourably impact performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, maintaining and diagnosis of machine faults as per Company Guidelines and SLA's on specified equipment.
  • Escalating issues to a Senior Technician / Manager when required.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Regular contact with call centre to maintain accurate reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a good rapport with the call centre, making regular contact with established call opening and closing procedures with accurately reported work/travel times.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.

Customer:

  • Training customers to be proficient in the use of their equipment.
  • To observe and maintain a professional company approach to all customers in developing and building a good rapport.

General:

  • Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge and skills
  • Comply with Group Policies, Procedures and Objectives.
  • Perform other such reasonable tasks and responsibilities which may from time to time be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Good written and excellent verbal communication skills across all levels.
  • 1+ years' experience with MFPs/ Printers taking apart to component level.
  • Ability to display tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult situations and people.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures both within the company and customer premises.
  • Effective workload scheduling and prioritising.
  • Full and Valid Driving Licence.
  • Full Colour Vision.
  • Proven Electro Mechanical Skills.
  • Ability to support department with networking of machines to client systems.
  • Educated to at least a grade 'C' in GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths.
  • Good time management and organising skills.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
