You'll have experience in start-up environments or a hunger to work in one and a keen yearning to learn all you can about building a vibrant brand in an exciting industry.

You can be recently graduated or have 1/2 years' experience in a somewhat related role (either way, you should be confident in dealing with high volumes of complex data).

About the Role

You'll be working closely with the founders and commercial and business development managers to creates and maintains forecast models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources.

You'll be joining us at an exciting time as we expand in to retail, diversify our product range and streamline and optimise the operation to ensure the business can scale.

You'll have the opportunity to engage with all departments across the business and you'll be supported and mentored by our founders (P&G) and our Head of Logistics and Operations (Sony, The British Museum, Gousto).

As an integral part of this early stage start up you'll have unlimited opportunity to grow with the business and have a real tangible impact in all areas, and eventually lead your own team.

Key Responsibilities

Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons including:

  • Gathering, analysing and validating data.
  • Executing statistical modelling software.
  • Reviewing resulting statistical forecast model.
  • Applying error analysis techniques to improve forecasting.
  • Summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and customer finance to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, Operations and finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts.

Research, recommend, implement and maintain demand planning software to ensure the business can scale with increasing product ranges including:

  • Entering and modifying data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy.
  • Monitor trends in forecast error.
  • Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence.
  • Provide input to the business in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate retail action plans with supply planning.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
  • Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing, operations and finance.

Required Education / Experience / Specific Job-related Skills:

  • 2:1 or 1st in BSC/BA Degree at top university.
  • Excellent numerically and excellent in dealing with high amounts of complex data.
  • Top grades in A-Levels or equivalent including STEM based subject(s)
  • APICS or other forecasting Certification a bonus but not necessary.
