Job Title: Logistics and Distribution Manager

Summary:

Are you a Logistics and Distribution Manager looking to join a rapidly expanding company? This role will have a heavy warehouse and 3rd party logistics focus. The successful candidate will be expected to manage and develop all aspects of the company's warehouse and distribution workflow and functions to meet company targets. As well as manage and ensure inventory is controlled, handled and dispatched to company and customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manpower resource in place with appropriate skills to meet business demands and timelines for UK and European operational activities
  • People development - identify skills gaps and address to ensure the team have the skills to deliver business goals in accordance with Company processes & legal compliance
  • Communicate and build key relationships with key support suppliers within logistics industry to meet the business service levels and costs targets for UK and Europe.
  • Inventory -ensuring all stock is kept in a secure and safe environment where it is stored to appropriate industry and company standards.
  • Locate negotiate, set up manage and exit (if decided) all Third party warehouse agreements and activities ensuring meeting with agreed KPI and company targets.
  • Packaging - inventory and negotiate purchases including wooden pallets to meet company requirements
  • Broken Promise Reporting (KPI) for all warehouse despatches.
  • Implement new carriers with KPI that meet industry standards and capability to meet business requirements.
  • Report performance and communicate any issues.
  • Alternative solutions to meet peak activities across all locations were stock is stored
  • Development and maintenance of the Safety Management System, to include working with the H&S Manager which includes Risk Assessments, manage weekly safety checks, racking checks by SEMA trained operatives at least once a month and MHE management.
  • Ensure and demonstrate controls in place to maintain all personnel have appropriate training or certification to operate MHE within warehouse operation.
