Managing a wide range of responsibilities including focusing on day to day troubleshooting, facilitating the optimisation of quality management processes and assisting business critical projects to successful completion and transition into mainstream manufacture through New Product Introduction.

Significant portions of the role include the analysis of manufacturing data to identify the highest priority issues, determining root causes and introducing corrective / preventative measures, as well as driving improvements in KPIs such as yield, productivity, scrap, etc.

Key deliverables:

Quality

  • Supporting the maintenance and development of company policies, processes, and procedures to maintain a compliant Quality Management System in line with regulatory and customer approvals.
  • Special Process point of contact including approvals, audits and 3rd party support.
  • Coordinate an effective Internal audit program to verify adherence and support QMS improvements.
  • Resolution of customer / internal / supplier concerns with disciplined problem solving including 8D/5Y'S etc.
  • Reduce scrap across the business.
  • Manage an effective calibration program for all product verification equipment and continually identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support deployment of Built-In-Quality culture (Don't Make / Don't Pass / Don't Accept defects) through quality improvement and awareness initiatives and in-process verification.
  • New Product Introduction
  • Review product verification strategies and manage their implementation to meet the Customer and / or Internal requirements across new products.
  • Identify measuring equipment required for manufacturing new products - including statistical justification.
  • Delivering FMEA / PPAP / MSA to support effective quality / manufacturing plans to enhance process control.
  • Drives quality control and / or assurance as required to achieve Right First Time.
  • Ensure sub-con suppliers have necessary information to process new products.

Supplier Quality

  • Managing all supplier rejections and corrective actions.
  • Managing all supplier surveillance activities including onsite audits where required.
    • Perform Quality Manager duties to when required to ensure departmental coverage as required.
    • Carry out any other duties appropriate and a required by the Engineering & Quality Manager to support business requirements.
