As the Manufacturing Engineer you will use your technical expertise and skill to plan, design, set up, optimise and monitor manufacturing processes that achieve ideal standard process times whilst fulfilling the customer expectation of on time delivery with zero rejects. Working alongside the production, lean, NPI and quality teams you will help deliver process efficiencies and eliminate waste within the manufacturing area.

  • Design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks using Poka Yoke where possible to prevent errors
  • Generate and maintain documentation such as routings, control plans & setting sheets
  • Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard operating procedures
  • Introduce COPQ and drive the improvements through
  • Identify and manage the Key Performance Indicators of the assembly cell (KPIs)
  • Maximise manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout
  • Respond to breakdowns and report downtime, identifying possible trends
  • Support continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities
  • Carry out FMEAs, RCA and implement improvements
  • Identify and deliver training to enhance team development

To be successful in this role of Manufacturing Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • UK degree in Production or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3+ years' post grad experience in a technical manufacturing environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of lean techniques, design and production costs to include waste downtime, scrap and re-work
  • Experience of working with ERP systems, preferably EFACS
  • Understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work
