As the Manufacturing Engineer you will support documentation and provide training to ensure successful implementation, support the achievement of daily business goals and progress long term technical & cost reduction projects and assist with the manufacture of NPI jobs when required whilst providing technical support in trouble-shooting production problems.

  • Complete sustain activities to support production within the filter connector assembly department
  • Define, document and provide training on best practice to ensure for existing production and New Product Introductions (NPI)
  • Support production by providing technical solutions to challenges as they arise
  • Enable the smooth integration of new products into production by documenting tooling, work holding and gauging requirements in routings and specifications
  • Ensure costs are captured and calculated correctly by maintaining the integrity of routed times, work centres and costed batch sizes in SAP
  • Drive efforts in the early stages of projects to complete the APQP/PPAP process as required including but not limited to FMEA's, process flows and design for manufacture
  • Keep well-informed of technical developments and review manufacturing methods
  • Trouble shoot automated equipment, semi-automated equipment and manual processes
  • Identify and recommend Improvements on manufacturing processes and technical developments

To be successful in this role of Manufacturing Engineer we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing engineering with exposure to filter connector assembly
  • Higher national certificate or diploma (HNC or HND) in manufacturing engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Experience soldering to an IPC standard or working with capacitors (would be an advantage)
  • Experience ensuring quality with flow diagrams, PFMEA's, control plans and quality inspection plans
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience drafting documentation and providing technical supervision over the manufacturing processes
  • Solving quality issues and seeking process improvements
  • Previous experience with SAP (would be an advantage)
