The successful Business Development Manager will Identify and develop new business opportunities in targeted overseas markets as assigned to you;

This role involves;

  • Manage and build on relationships with existing export customers and distributors;
  • Drive a proactive business development plan with international distributors using for example the Distributor Annual Business Planning tools and maintain regular reviews
  • Provide technical support to accounts in all markets, including attending the installation and commissioning of company products and systems when required;
  • Researching export markets, trends, opportunities and competitor activity;
  • Manage and develop existing export accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, providing (or arranging) commercial and technical support and training as required;
  • Assisting in the identification, establishment and technical sales training and support of new distributors in targeted export markets. Designing, developing and delivering training to existing and new distributors and employees as required in the UK and globally and evaluating the effectiveness of training delivered and making recommendations for improvement:

To be successful in this role of Business Development Manager we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • Ideally, with a business or engineering degree (or equivalent experience in industry);
  • Prepared to spend time travelling overseas as required (including occasional weekend travel);
  • Strong B2B technical sales background from a 'process industry' and good commercial understanding, ideally including export sales development (e.g., printing, slitting, food packaging sectors);
  • French, Italian or Spanish speaking would be advantageous;
  • Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills to include networking, relationship building, negotiating and influencing;
  • Organised, confident, self-disciplined, self-motivated, resourceful and loyal;
