The successful Purchasing Manager will oversee the management of the Purchasing Team and ensuring they work effectively towards company goals.

The role will involve:

  • Analysis of current purchasing practice and implementation/management of purchasing strategy.
  • Creation and development of effective supply chain relationships to provide a more cost effective and efficient supply.
  • Work with supply chain to minimize shortages and improve supply.
  • Collation and implementation of new ideas for improvements within the department.
  • Work closely with design/ R+D to understand requirements/costs for new equipment and the impact on purchasing/ greater business needs.

To be successful in this role of Purchasing Manager we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:

  • CIPS qualified
  • Minimum of 5 years in a purchasing management position.
  • Previous Management experience
  • Strategic purchasing experience with diverse supplier base.
  • Good knowledge of assembly manufacturing organisations.
  • Previous experience of outsourcing assemblies and working with overseas suppliers
  • Previous experience of creating and maintaining Kanban call off process with suppliers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, influencing and organisational skills.
